Charlotte Hinksman // Lead Coach & Trainer

Originally from the United Kingdom, Charlotte has a B.A. honours degree in psychology and has experience working as an assistant psychologist in the clinical areas of neuro-psychology and sexual health.

Charlotte completed her training in NLP in New Zealand, and with her perception of human change and potential now permanently transformed, she immediately established her private practice in central Wellington which has been successfully busy since 2006.  She works with clients one-on-one and in groups. 

When Charlotte is not consulting with clients or training, she is passionately active in continuous professional development which includes:

  • Undertaking regular ongoing professional and peer supervision
  • Participating in professional development trainings
  • Assisting on NLP practitioner and master practitioner trainings in NZ and overseas
  • Previous coordinator (four years) and current contributing member of the monthly Wellington NLP Group
  • Keeping an active network of fellow coaches, OD and L&D professionals in NZ, Australia, and the UK
  • Previously on the Accrediation Board for the NZANLP (two years)
  • Upskilling in the areas of strengths-based psychology, Leadership Development & Organisational Development

Charlotte’s Other Life

When you are living your passion and purpose it takes continuous awareness and attention to practice living a continuously balanced lifestyle.  Charlotte has many other interests, hobbies and pursuits to keep life balanced and fun, some of which include:

  • Daily yoga practice and an interest in meditation and Qigong
  • Tramping and other outdoor pursuits, including involvement in the Wellington Outdoor Adventures Group
  • Active member of the Wellington Writers' & Wine club
  • Travelling and living in the world  – including stints in Japan and Papua New Guinea
  • Nurturing relationships with family and friends in New Zealand, the UK and around the world
  • An ethical consumer with an interest in nutrition, ethical and environmental living and animal welfare
  • Running our rural property based on environmentally sustainable principles
  • Raising money for charity through sponsored running events
  • Volunteer work, which has included Tauma Recovery work in Samoa following the 2009 Tsunami
  • Living with her partner and two (demanding) cats

Michelle is passionate about developing people to excel in all areas of their life and achieves this through one on one coaching and training with groups.  Through the course of her own career Michelle’s curiosity was ignited to understand more about how and why we approach things the way we do and how we can become more successful; leading her into the fields of study in Neuro Linguistics, psychology and neuroscience.  Michelle established her own coaching and training practice in 2009, and has worked with many individuals and businesses looking to create more successful outcomes.  Completing her NLP Trainers Certification was a significant achievement and has helped Michelle understand NLP at an even deeper level.

Her work with clients is diverse from helping people successfully deal with personal issues such as trauma, lack of confidence, self esteem, anxious/depressing feelings, through to career and leadership development.

When Michelle is not consulting with clients or training, she is passionately active in continuous professional development which includes:

  • Assisting on NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner trainings
  • Co-ordinator for the monthly regional Wellington NLP Group

Michelle’s other life

Running your own business can be challenging and Michelle recognises the importance of maintaining balance and the need to make this intentional.  To help her achieve this Michelle engages in many activities including:

  • Travelling and experiencing different cultures and interesting places – often doing volunteer work which has taken her to Vietnam and Antarctica
  • Getting into the outdoors and enjoying the many tramping opportunities NZ has to offer
  • Spending quality time with her partner, nurturing friendships and staying connected with family
  • Continuing her studies and personal development
  • Having an active interest in many forms of spirituality, meditation and yoga

While she is a born and bred Welingtonian, Brenda brings a wealth of international experience to her NLP practice.  Having studied at Stanford University on Leadership and the Effects of Power, Brenda has worked extensively to help her clients step into their own personal power through the use of NLP.  She gets a real charge from helping her clients move from static mindsets which hold them back to living a life of purpose and fulfillment.

  • Public speaking about the life transforming opportunities of NLP and coaching

Brenda’s Other Life

Brenda has many other interests and pursuits to keep life balanced and add richness and authenticity to her work, some of which include:

  • Being with her family and friends, and fulfilling her ‘soccer mom’ duties
  • Reading British crime fiction
  • An avid follower of classic science fiction and other cult TV shows
  • Pursuing her new found enthusiasm for de-cluttering her physical spaces
  • Running along the Wellington waterfront as part of her commitment to her physical fitness
